Welcome to this months issue of the Flumeletter.

In this Flumeletter, we’re excited to share what we’re up to at the start of 2026 which includes taking part in two conferences.

We also have the next edition of our Team Spotlight. Find out what Jamee, our Research Executive, has been reading, listening to and watching.

Happy reading!

1. Where can you find us?

Firstly, on February 26th you can find us at the MRS Generation A-Z conference 2026 at the Radisson Blu Edwardian, London, where we will be giving a presentation on Gen Alpha.

Alongside Caroline Cockell, Director of Marketing at Student Roost, our Head of Research AJ will be covering what businesses need to know about this first AI-native generation as it approaches adulthood. We will offer an in-depth look at Gen Alpha’s attitudes across family, education, technology, home life, and society. We will also explore how older Gen Alphas are shaping their expectations of independence, digital life, and their identity.

Join us to hear how your business might respond and prepare for to the impact of this influential generation.

2. Where else can you find us?

On March 10th you can find us at the MRS annual conference 2026 at the Hilton London Bankside, London.

We’re delighted to be chairing a debate about the use of the GLP-1 Weight Loss jab.  We will be joined by Katherine Hardwick, Group Insight Director at Samworth Brothers, Mary Kirk who’s a marketing consultant, Joe Bonnell who’s an ethnographer & visual anthropologist and Caroline Walker who’s a nutrition & health coach.

Drawing on insights from our self-funded research, we will bring the voice of the GLP-1 user directly into the room through first-hand voice notes from our study. These real experiences will punctuate the discussion, illuminating initial motivations, the lived impact of usage, and how the weight loss jab is reshaping relationships with food. Audience members will also be invited to contribute their own perspectives and pose questions to our expert panel.

Key takeaways will include:

  • GLP-1 use is reshaping more than just what people eat—it’s driving lifestyle changes that ripple across households.
  • Winners are clear: protein, fresh produce, and supplements are booming. Losers? Carb-heavy foods, confectionery, snacking, and hospitality are feeling the impact.
  • For food brands, this isn’t a passing trend—it’s a new reality. Understanding and adapting to it is now essential

If you’re interested in hearing more about our GLP-1 research or understanding how we could work with you to grow your brand in 2026, we’d love to hear from you. Drop us an email at hello@flume.group so the team can get back to you.

Team Spotlights

In our next edition of Team Spotlights – where we catchup on what our team has been reading, listening to, and watching – we’d like to feature our marvellous research executive, Jamee.

Reading
I have two very different books on the go. Challenging my beliefs and perceptions is The Courage to Be Disliked by Ichiro Kishimi & Fumitake Koga, which has been surprisingly thought-provoking despite its unusual writing style. For a lighter fiction read, I’m currently making my way through Brandon Sanderson’s Cosmere collection, which I read when I was younger and have recently rediscovered.

Watching
I love a good psychological thriller and recently binge-watched two shows, Severance and From, but I’m now in that familiar “what next?” phase. While I’m hunting for my next proper series, most of my viewing time is going into DIY kitchen renovation videos, as I’m about to start doing my own – equal parts inspiring and overwhelming.

Listening
I usually have house music on in the background, especially while working or at the gym, and tend to let Spotify do its thing rather than sticking to specific artists. Recently though, I’ve somehow drifted into a 70s-80s phase. No idea how that happened, but it’s been a nice change of pace and very easy listening!
